About this supplement
Pumpkin seed protein concentrate is a plant-based protein derived from the seeds of Cucurbita pepo (pumpkin). It is produced by mechanically pressing the seeds to remove oil, followed by milling and concentration of the remaining protein-rich meal. The resulting powder typically contains 60-80% protein by weight, along with dietary fiber, minerals (especially magnesium, zinc, and iron), and bioactive compounds like phytosterols and tocopherols. It is valued as a complete or near-complete protein source, containing all nine essential amino acids, though it may be somewhat lower in lysine and threonine compared to animal proteins. It is commonly used in sports nutrition, meal replacements, and functional foods due to its nutritional profile, hypoallergenic properties, and sustainability.

Technical details â–¼
Physical properties
Fine powder, typically light green to beige in color. Mild, nutty flavor. Soluble or dispersible in water depending on processing (concentrate less soluble than isolate). Hygroscopic.
How it’s made
Pumpkin seeds are cleaned, dehulled, and cold-pressed to extract oil. The defatted seed cake is then milled into a fine meal. Protein is concentrated via air classification or mild solvent processing to remove additional fiber and carbohydrates, followed by drying and milling to a consistent powder.
